Es tracta de les les prote\u00efnes HAT, unes prote\u00efnes essencials per a la vida que transporten amino\u00e0cids a trav\u00e9s de la membrana cel\u00b7lular. Tot i aix\u00f2, unes transporten uns amino\u00e0cids i unes altres no.<\/p>\n<p>La seva especialitzaci\u00f3 \u00e9s responsable que cadascuna estigui involucrada en funcions concretes com, per exemple, el creixement cel\u00b7lular o el funcionament de les neurones i, per tant, en malalties concretes com el c\u00e0ncer o <span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"ca\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"ca\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"es\" data-phrase-index=\"0\" data-number-of-phrases=\"1\"> malalties neurol\u00f2giques com l&#8217;ictus i l&#8217;Alzheimer<\/span><\/span>. Els investigadors han descrit el perqu\u00e8 d&#8217;aquesta especificitat en un <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pnas.org\/content\/118\/49\/e2113573118\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">estudi<\/a> publicat a la revista <em>Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Gr\u00e0cies a les darreres tecnologies d&#8217;alta resoluci\u00f3 estructural com la criomicrosc\u00f2pia electr\u00f2nica, els investigadors han estat capa\u00e7os de visualitzar amb detall at\u00f2mic l&#8217;estructura d&#8217;un dels membres d&#8217;aquesta fam\u00edlia de prote\u00efnes. Combinat amb modelatge computacional i el disseny de mutants de la prote\u00efna, han pogut entendre el seu funcionament.<\/p>\n<p>Els resultats de l&#8217;estudi mostren que nom\u00e9s uns quants residus d&#8217;aquesta fam\u00edlia de prote\u00efnes, situats en regions molt concretes, seleccionen els amino\u00e0cids espec\u00edfics als quals s&#8217;uniran, i per tant s\u00f3n els responsables que desenvolupin una funci\u00f3 o una altra.<\/p>\n<h3>Nous f\u00e0rmacs contra el c\u00e0ncer o l&#8217;Alzheimer<\/h3>\n<p>A partir d&#8217;aquesta investigaci\u00f3, el gran repte dels investigadors ara \u00e9s trobar noves ter\u00e0pies i f\u00e0rmacs per a patologies en qu\u00e8 estan implicades les prote\u00efnes de la fam\u00edlia HAT, amb especial inter\u00e8s en aquelles malalties que representen greus problemes de salut p\u00fablica com el c\u00e0ncer o les malalties neurodegeneratives com l&#8217;Alzheimer.<\/p>\n<p>El treball s&#8217;ha dut a terme en col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 amb els grups de V\u00edctor Guallar, Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) i Luc\u00eda D\u00edaz de l&#8217;empresa biotecnol\u00f2gica Nostrum Biodiscovery.
